All participants must be US Citizens or permanent legal residents.

Can I participate even though I am not of African American, Hispanic or Native American descent?

Applicants must be African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American in order to be eligible for Career Prep.

What makes a strong application for the MBA Prep Program?

Approach this as if it were a business school application with a strong candidate profile. Accompany less-stellar job experience or transcripts with outstanding essays and glowing letters of recommendation.

How much work experience should I have when applying?

One year post-undergraduate work experience is required to apply to MBA Prep. Most business-school applicants have 3-5 years of solid work experience.

Will a below-average undergrad record affect my application to MBAP?

Academic record is an integral part of the MBA Prep application, as well as business school applications. It is not the only thing we take into account, however, students not satisfied with their undergraduate academic performance are advised to take business related classes (statistics, accounting, economics, etc) at a junior college to demonstrate their capability of succeeding in a top business program.

Will a low GMAT score affect my application?

Like all business school applications, MBA Prep requires a GMAT score from applicants. Unlike business school applications, we will accept a practice score for consideration. If accepted, applicants must secure an official score of 500 or higher by February 1st, 2011, in order to start the MBA Prep program. Official GMAT score cards need to be dated within the last three years (2007) and practice scores need to be dated within the last 6 weeks.  Scores prior to those time frames may not be accepted.

How do I submit my transcript and GMAT score?

These documents must be uploaded to an application in a PDF or MS Word format. Please name the documents in the following style: Last Name_First Name_Transcript.pdf, or Last Name_First Name_GMAT_MM DD YY.doc.

I clicked "Submit" and all that's left is my recommendation. Am I done?

Applications are not considered complete until the recommender submits his or her form.

Is there an interview?

Interviews are by invitation only and are required of those invited.  MLT interviews allow our admissions team to explore your qualifications beyond those exhibited in your application. Interviews are conducted by current MLT staff and alumni.  Please Note: MLT does not honor interview requests.

When will I be notified if I am admitted into the program?

Decisions are communicated approximately two and a half months after the application submission deadline.

What happens if I don't get in? Can I re-apply the next year?

Yes. Be sure you demonstrate recently developed skills and underscore what has changed in the last year. Do not to resubmit your old application.

I am having difficulties with my application. What do I do?

For technical questions, please contact technical support via the links found within the application. For content questions, such as transcript issues, please contact MLT at MBAP-Recruiting@ml4t.org .
