MBA Prep is open to students who identify as being African American/Black, Latino/Hispanic and/or Native American and have United States citizenship.
Click the following links for more information on eligibility requirements, the selection process, deadlines, the application checklist, recommendations, and GMAT scores.
Work Experience: We encourage candidates to work at least 2 years before applying to the MBA Prep program to sharpen their business skills.
Under-Represented Minorities: All applicants must identify as African American/Black, Latino/Hispanic, and/or Native Americans.
Achievement: To be considered, students must have solid academic standing. Those with a strong undergraduate GPA or greater are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must also have demonstrated leadership ability and motivation in their extracurricular activities.
Commitment: Students must be willing to commit significant time and energy to the program, which will last about a year. This includes several hours a week and a few short trips to regional events during weekends and academic breaks.
US Citizenship: MBA Prep does not admit non-US citizens.
Due to limited resources and the demanding requirements of our program, admittance to the MBA Prep program is selective. We would like to accept all applicants, but we can only offer personalized guidance and support to a limited number. The selection committee will review applications and may also follow up with a telephone interview to determine which students best meet the admission criteria. Admissions decisions typically come out within 2 months of deadline by which you apply.
The MBA Prep Program application deadlines for next year's class are as follows:
Early Round: October 15, 2007 (decisions in December)
First Round: November 31, 2007 (decisions in January)
Final Round: March 28, 2008 (decisions in April)
NOTE: Strong preference is given to early and first round applications. Admission in the second round is on a space-available basis.

You must obtain a letter of recommendation in support of your MBA Prep application. While obtaining a recommendation from your current employer is ideal, MLT understands that it may not be in your best interest to make such a request at this time. Other appropriate recommenders include former employers, college professors, and community leaders. The individual writing the letter should address your work ethic, leadership potential, ambition and extra efforts, effectiveness working in teams, and ability to act on constructive feedback. The letter may be submitted electronically through the online application system (or it may be submitted by mail to the MLT office).
Submission Options:
Online Submission (Preferred) - Electronic submission of your recommendation through the online application system is preferred. When completing the online application, you will be prompted to enter your recommender's information, including e-mail. The system will generate an e-mail to your recommender with details on how to complete your recommendation.
Note: The request for recommendation will only be released once your application is submitted.
To complete the online application all applicants are required to submit a GMAT score. We are giving all applicants the option to submit a practice or an official score.
Practice GMAT: An exam that is offered through an online service or by an organization such as Princeton Review. The score from a practice GMAT gives you an indication of your current performance level.
The official GMAT score recognizes that you have sat for the exam offered by the Graduate Management Council (GMAC).
