Development Manager

Position Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, the Development Manager will be a key member of the development team supporting MLT's revenue growth to fund its strategic growth plan. MLT is seeking an entrepreneurial individual to join its three-person business development team responsible for growing MLT's annual revenue from $5M to over $10M over the next three years. Currently a majority of MLT's revenue comes from its blue-chip corporate partners including Goldman Sachs, PepsiCo, McKinsey, Target, Google, and Deloitte. The development team will be focused on building funding partnerships with non-partner corporations and developing new products/ revenue-generating services from existing partners, as well as building MLT's revenue streams from foundations, MLT alumni, high net worth individuals, and event-related fundraising. The successful candidate for this position will possess a strong work-ethic, an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to multi-task, be a problem solver, enjoy working in teams, have a sales-focus, strong attention to detail, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This position is located in MLT's headquarters in NYC. The position requires occasional travel and weekend work.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build MLT's pipeline of potential funders
  • Manage relationships/ follow-up with potential funders
  • Drive the business development process from lead generation to close, pulling in additional resources as necessary
  • Oversee proposal/ presentation development and writing
  • Support the development activities of MLT's CEO, President, and Vice President of Marketing and Business Development
  • Lead MLT overview presentations/ pitches to prospective corporate, foundation, and individual funders
  • Identify and develop new potential revenue streams

Competencies

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills and experience working with senior executives
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to synthesize data into client-ready presentations
  • Extremely well-organized and detail oriented; able to efficiently manage multiple tasks concurrently

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of work experience in a client-facing capacity within consulting, corporate marketing / sales, revenue generating role, or non-profit fundraising
  • BA or equivalent degree required; MBA strongly preferred
  • PowerPoint and Excel proficiency required

MBA Prep Associate Director

Position Description

The MBA Prep program guides MBA Prep Fellows through a 16 month preparatory curriculum culminating with their MBA application submissions.

Reporting to the MBA Prep Director, the MBA Prep Associate Director will be a key member of the MBA Prep team supporting the development and implementation of the MBA Prep program's strategic vision, program content, and processes. He or she will be primarily responsible for seminar planning and execution, tracking and analyzing feedback results from fellows and partners to measure program and event satisfaction, assessment and development of program curriculum, and management of the MBA Prep coaching staff. The Associate Director will work closely with the Program Director to enhance the MBA Prep experience and streamline/improve business processes as the MBA Prep program expands. The Associate Director will also have coaching responsibilities - implementing the program's curriculum by assessing the qualities required of successful candidates for top graduate business programs and providing personalized guidance to Fellows.

The ideal candidate should be highly organized and solution-driven. He or she should also have a superior mix of strategic acumen, business experience, and project management skills. This person must excel in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multitask effectively. MLT actively maintains a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture.

The Associate Director role is a full-time position and is located in MLT's headquarters in NYC.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the MBA Prep Director in executing the overall MBA Preparation program's strategic vision, including management of key program metrics
  • Seminar Planning & Execution
  • Management and support of approximately six MBA Prep team members
  • Curriculum Development
  • MBA Prep coaching of up to 25 Fellows

Competencies

  • Experience leading and motivating a remote team
  • Excellent overall intellectual capacity and judgment - has, or can quickly develop, a deep knowledge of the MBA application process, master coaching curriculum, and establish an intuitive sense of participant development areas
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Successful track record leading teams and managing initiatives in a metrics-driven environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - especially listening, motivating and persuading; ability to be direct in advising on difficult issues with a strong balance of a nurturing personality with business-like efficiency

Candidate Requirements

  • MBA degree from a leading program with at least two years of post-MBA work experience (preferably in management consulting) and/or at least two years of MBA admissions or MBA recruiting experience required
  • Significant project management experience with strong track record of accomplishments
  • Experience managing teams (managing remote teams a strong plus)

MLT-Houston Program Analyst

Position Description

Reporting to the MLT-Houston Executive Director, the Program Analyst will be a key member of the MLT-Houston team supporting the recruiting, programming and partner relations activities by tracking, analyzing and reporting on program metrics.

This position is located in MLT's Houston office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Recruiting and Admissions
    • Organize and implement the processes and infrastructure for marketing to and recruiting program candidates
    • Organize and implement the selection and admissions process for program participants
  • Programs
    • Tracking event responses
    • Conduct event coordination and logistics for seminars, summits and other events
    • Attend program events as needed
  • Assessment and Tracking
    • Create and maintain databases (utilizing both Excel and CRM tool) to track the impact of the Houston Fellows Program on program participants including metrics such as:
      • Participant satisfaction
      • Pre/post assessments of skills and interests
      • Alumni engagement
      • Continuation in other MLT programs
    • Create and maintain databases (utilizing both Excel and CRM tool) to track involvement of local partners
    • Assist Program Manager and ED in reporting metrics on activities and outcomes
  • Other
    • Collaborate with other MLT staff (e.g., Program Directors, Coordinators and Events Manager)
    • Assist with partner support activities as required
    • Provide office administrative support
    • Provide feedback on successes and challenges as they surface
