Academics
During the first year, your coursework consists mainly of core classes. These courses give you business and management fundamentals. Core classes are limited to groups of 65-70 students; additionally, each student is assigned a five- or six-person study team to work with throughout the year. The curriculum is built around case study exercises, which apply your knowledge to complex business problems.
Your second year is made up of electives. These classes allow you to explore your interests. You can follow a career concentration and/or an enrichment concentration. You can also choose to work on a project or pursue independent study.
All students -- not just those interested in international business -- are encouraged to participate in the many study abroad and exchange programs offered over the summer or during the year.
Diversity
Kenan-Flagler is a member of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, an alliance of the leading American business schools and global corporations designed to enable the largest possible number of the best and the brightest African Amercian, Hispanic American, and Native American college graduates to pursue successful careers in business.
You can join one of the minority organizations on campus such as the Alliance for Minority Business Students, the National Black MBA Association, and the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. To read more about diversity in the MBA program, click here.
